Good morning gang and welcome to the return of Saturday's Singles. On this day in 1948,  Dutch Australian musician, singer, songwriter and guitarist, Beeb Birtles was born. Today the Little River Band co founder turns 72 years old. Happy Birthday Beeb ! With him in mind, we take a listen to LRB's September 1981, Capitol Records single, "The Night Owls", which peaked at #46 in New Zealand  #33 on the Adult Contemporary charts, #22 in the Netherlands, #18 in Australia, and #6 on the Hot 100. The track, from their 6th LP, Time Exposure, features "Suicide Boulevard" on it's flip side.

On this day in 1993, Steppenwolf drummer, Jerry Edmonton, died in a car accident in Santa Ynez, California. He was 47 years old. To honor his legacy we give this September 1975 MUMS records release, "Caroline (Are You Ready For The Outlaw World)" a spin. The tune, from their 8th studio album, Hour Of The Wolf originally featured "Angeldrawers" on the B-side. Our promotional copy has the "Caroline" song on both sides.
