SATURDAY'S SINGLES : PAUL MCCARTNEY, STEVIE WONDER and SHANIA TWAIN

Good morning gang and welcome back to the the return of Saturday's Singles. Ou time machine travels back first to this day in 1982 when Beatle John Lennon teamed with with Stevie Wonder to have the #1 song in the land with "Ebony and Ivory". The track, using the keys of a piano as an analogy for racial harmony, was released on the Columbia label with George Martin as producer. It hailed from Paul's 3rd album Tug Of War and featured the tune, "Rainclouds" as it's B-side. It's rumored that "Rainclouds" is the song he worked on the afternoon after hearing about his bandmate, John Lennon's murder.

Also on this day in 2008, the Queen of Pop Country, Shania Twain and her soon to be ex husband,  producer Robert John "Mutt" Lange announced they were separating after being married since 1993. It seems "Mutt" had an affair with Twain's bestfriend. The two divorced in 2010.

Shania's single, "That Don't Impress Me Much" December 1, 1998 on the Mercury Nashville and was produced by "Mutt" Lange. It peaked at #1 in Belgium, Ireland, New Zealand, and Norway, while only landing the #8 position on the US Country Singles chart. It hailed from her third record, Come On Over. Our copy is a cassette single with different remixes of the song on both sides.
