SATURDAY'S SINGLES : SLADE and SWEET

Good morning gang and welcome to the return of Saturday's Singles. First up, under our needle, is the tune "Run Runaway" by British glam band, Slade. The song, hailing from their eleventh studio album, The Amazing Kamikaze Syndrome, was released January 13, 1984 on the CBS Associated label and produced by John Punter. It peaked at #20 on the Hot 100, #13 in Canada, #7 in the UK, and #1 on the Mainstream Rock Charts. It's B-side is the track "Don't Tame a Hurricane", from the same album.

Our second single comes to us in the form of "Ballroom Blitz" by another British glam band, Sweet. "Ballroom Blitz"  was released September 1973 on Capitol Records, on their third record, Desolation Boulevard  and produced by Phil Wainman. The track reached #5 on the Hot 100, #2 in the UK, and #1 in Canada and West Germany. It's flip side is "Restless" from their second LP, Sweet Fanny Adams.
