Good morning gang and welcome to the return of Saturday's Singles. On this day in 1998, Columbia Pictures released the British musical comedy, Spice World, starring Victoria, Emma, Mel C, Geri, and Mel B, known collectively as  the Spice Girls. Today we welcome them to the page with their 1997 Virgin Records release, "Too Much, on cassette single. The tune, hailing from their second studio album, Spiceworld, reached #23 on Billboard's Rhythmic and Adult Contemporary charts, #20 on the Mainstream Top 40, #9 on the Hot 100, and #1 in the UK. Today also marks three years since the death of Hugh Masekela, the trumpeter, flugelhornist, cornetist, singer and composer, known as the Father of South African jazz. He passed away in 2018, age 78, from prostate cancer. "Grazing In The Grass" was released  May 1968, on the UNI label. It came from Hugh's 8th album, The Promise of a Future, and reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. It's B-side is "Bajabula Bonke (Healing Song)", from the same album.
