SATURDAY'S SINGLES : THE CLASH and RADIOHEAD

Good morning record junkies and welcome to the return of Saturday's Singles. a Birthday edition. First up on our celebratory cake calendar is guitarist/vocalist Mick Jones of English punk band , The Clash (not to be confused with guitarist Mick Jones from Foreigner ). Mick is turning 66 today. Happy Birthday Mick ! In addition to the Clash, Jones also started  Big Audio Dynamite and worked with General Public. The Clash released the single, "Rock The Casbah" on June 11, 1982. The Epic Records release reached #30 in the UK, #13 on the Cash Box, #8 on the Hot 100 and the Hot Dance Club Play, and #6 on Billboard's Top Tracks chart. The song was from their 5th album,  Combat Rock, and features the tune, "Long Time Jerk", a non album track, as it's B-side.

Our second single comes to us via English alternative rock band, Radiohead. Their bassist, Colin Greenwood, turns 52 today. Happy Birthday Colin ! Radiohead released their debut single, Creep", September 6, 1992 on Capitol Records. It hailed from their debut album (and consequently their best album), Pablo Honey. "Creep" reached #39 on the Mainstream Top 40, #34 on the Hot 100, #20 on the Mainstream Rock charts, and #7 in the UK. It's B-side is "Faithless, The Wonderboy" also a non album track. Our copy is a cassette single, so it has both songs on both sides.
