SATURDAY'S SINGLES ; THE ROLLING STONES and THE CHI-LITES

Good morning gang and welcome to the return of Saturday's Singles, a Number Ones Edition. Our first #1 topped the Billboard Hot 100 on this day in 1971. The Rolling Stones released "Brown Sugar" on Rolling Stones Records. It was written by Keith Richards and Mick Jagger and produced by Jimmy Miller. It hails from their 9th studio album, Sticky Fingers and features "Bitch" on it's B-side. In addition to topping the Hot 100, it also claimed #1 in Canada, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.

Our second Saturday's Single is "Oh Girl" by Chicago based vocal group, The Chi-Lites. The tune topped the Hot 100 on this day in 1972 after being released on the Brunswick label . The song, also a #1 on the R&B charts and the Cash Box, was written and produced by lead vocalist,  Eugene Record. It's flip side is "Being In Love". It's parent album, A Lonely Man, was the 4th album by The  Chi-Lites.
