Good morning, morning people and welcome back to the Sunday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl America. Today we wish British-American guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter, Dewey Bunell of folk rock group America, a very Happy 68th Birthday. Happy Birthday Dewey ! To mark the occasion, we throw a spotlight on their seventh studio album, Harbor. Harbor was released February 15, 1977 on the Warner Brothers label and produced by Sir George Martin. It peaked at #13 in Norway, #19 in Australia, and #21 in America. It yielded three singles, "God of The Sun", "Don't Cry Baby", and "Slow Down" but all three tunes failed to chart. This is the last America record to feature guitarist Dan Peek, who would leave the trio to pursue a solo career in Christian music. He passed away in 2011, age 60, from fibrinous pericarditis. The LP comes with a giant 8 page fold out double sided full color poster. One side is a photo college while the other shows the band onstage with what looks like a sold out arena crowd behind them. We usually try to keep such things with the album, but the crowd shot is so magnificent, we are considering framing it.
