STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - ANDY SUMMERS AND ROBERT FRIPP - I ADVANCE MASKED

Good Monday morning gang ( if you believe in such things) and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we celebrate the 76th Birthday of British musician, songwriter, and record producer, best known as the guitarist, founder, and longest lasting member of progressive rock band, King Crimson. Happy Birthday Robert Fripp ! In addition to his extensive session work, Robert has also collaborated with many other musicians, such as  David Bowie, Blondie, Brian Eno, Peter Gabriel, Daryl Hall,  the Talking Heads, and Andy Summers, the guitarist for The Police. Their first collaboration, the 1982 A&M album, I Advance Masked, is our selected subject today. The record is a 13 track instrumental piece with only the two guitarists playing on it and is self produced. It's progressive, ambient, and Avant-guarde . The title track was released as a single. This was purchased within the last year at Treasure House Antiques and Collectibles in Winter Haven, FL, where the Mrs. has her two booths. An interesting note (at least to us) is the that the 5th track on the second side is called "Lakeland/Aquarelle". It's interesting because we live in Lakeland, although I can find no connection to the town and the duo.
