STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - BEE GEES - CUCUMBER CASTLE

Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember British singer, songwriter and record producer, Robin Gibb, of Bee Gees fame, on this, the 8th anniversary of his death. He passed away in 2012, age 62, from liver and kidney failure. With him in mind we spotlight their 7th studio album, Cucumber Castle. The LP was released April of 1970 on the Polydor and Atco labels. It was produced by the Bee Gees and Robert Stigwood. It peaked at #94 on the Billboard 200, #57 in the UK, and #7 in Italy. Three singles were released ;  "Don't Forget To Remember" (#73 Hot 100, #2 UK, #1 Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and S. Africa), "If Only I Had My Mind On Something Else" (#91 Hot 100) and  "I.O.I.O." (#94 Hot 100, #49 UK, #2 Austria). Oddly enough for a record remembering Robin, it does not contain any recorded contribution from Robin, as he had left the group to pursue a solo career, shortly before recording began. He would however return to the fold in time to record their next record, 2 Years On. I guess I forgot to remember to check the credits ...
