STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - BEN COLDER - THE BEST OF BEN COLDER

Good Monday morning gang and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . today we remember Oklahoma born musician and actor, Sheb Wooley, on what would have been his 101st Birthday. He died in 2003, age 82 from leukemia. Most people know Sheb from his hugely popular hit,  "The Purple People Eater", but he also performed country novelty/ parody songs under the name of Ben Colder. (Think of Homer & Jethro, but one guy.) It is his greatest hits compilation, The Best Of Ben Colder, that is our subject of focus today. The Best Of Ben Colder was released on MGM Records in 1968 and peaked at #44 on the Top Country Albums chart. It was produced by Jack Clement and Jim Vienneau. The artwork on both the front and back covers is by page favorite, Jack Davis.
