STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - DOLLY PARTON - THE BEST OF DO0LLY PARTON

Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we emphatically wish Tennessee born singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actress, author, businesswoman and humanitarian, Dolly Parton, a very Happy 76th Birthday. Happy Birthday Dolly ! With her in mind, we spotlight her first greatest hits record, The Best Of Dolly Parton. The LP was released November 9, 1970 on the RCA Victor label and produced by Bob Ferguson. It peaked at #12 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and has been certified Gold in the US. The album's sole single, a cover of "Mule Skinner Blues (Blue Yodel No. 8)" won her a Grammy nomination and reached #4 in Canada and #3 on the Hot Country Songs chart. The album features pianist Hargus "Pig" Robbins, who seems like he was on nearly every country album, and Portner Wagoner, Dolly's mentor, provides the liner notes.
