STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - EDGAR WINTER - BROTHER JOHNNY

Good morning faithful readers and welcome back to the Sunday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember Beaumont, Texas native, singer, guitarist, songwriter and record producer, Johnny Winter, (John Dawson Winter III) on this the 9th anniversary of his passing. He was born February 23, 1944 to parents John Winter II and Edwina Winter and he is the younger Brother of Edgar Winter. He passed away in 2014, age 70. No official cause of death has been given, but it is said to have been emphysema combined with pneumonia. We honor his legacy by spinning Edgar's latest release, the double album, appropriately titled, Brother Johnny. The LP was released April 15, 2022 on Quarto Valley Records and produced by Edgar Winter and Ross Hogarth. It peaked at #33 on Billboard's Top Album Sales, #21 on the Current Album Sales chart, #6 in Switzerland, and #1 on the UK Jazz & Blues Albums and Top Blues Albums charts. It is a star studded musical guest lists with contributions from andrew Duckles, Billy Gibbons, Bill Payne, Bobby Rush, Bob Glaub, Charlie Bisharat, David Grissom, Derek Trucks, Doug Rappoport, Doyle Bramhall II, Gregg Bissonette, Harry Kim, Jacob Braun, Joe Bonamassa, Joe Walsh, John McFee, Josefina Vergara, Keb' Mo', Kenny Aronoff, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Michael McDonald, Phil X, Ringo Starr, Robben Ford, Sean Hurley, Stephen Kupka, Steve Lukather, Taylor Hawkins, Tim Pierce, Waddy Wachtel, Warren Haynes and Wayne Bergeron. The album cover is lenticular and the face on it changes from Johnny to Edgar, depending on how you look at it.  We got our copy through Amazon. My beautiful Wife Lynn has seen the Brothers live starting with Edgar at her very first concert 1973, Johnny in 1975 and Edgar again 2017, where she got her ticket signed by Rick Derringer. I'll include photos of the latter.
