Good morning Thursday people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we joyfully celebrate the 69th Birthday of  English drummer, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and actor, Phil Collins. Happy Birthday Phil ! To commemorate the date we spotlight the self titled 12th album by Genesis. The LP was released October 3, 1983 on the Atlantic label and produced by Genesis and Hugh Padgham. It peaked at #1 in the UK, Germany, and Finland, #2 in Canada, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Norway, and #9 in America. It has been certified 4X Platinum in the US. Five of the record's 9 tracks were released as singles ; "Mama" (#4 UK, #73 Hot 100, #5 Mainstream Rock) , "That's All" (#16 UK, #6 Hot 100, #7  Adult Contemporary) , "Home by the Sea", "Illegal Alien" (#46 UK, #44 Hot 100) , and "Taking It All Too Hard" (#50 Hot 100, #11 Adult Contemporary) . A personnel favorite is "Just a Job to Do".
