STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - GEORGE JONES - SINGING THE BLUES

Good morning faithful readers and welcome back to the Thursday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Earlier in the week (09/12/22) marked what would have been George Jones' 91st Birthday. The Texas born guitarist/vocalist ( and former Lakeland resident) was born in 1931 and passed away April 26, 2013, age 91, from hypoxic respiratory failure. We honor his legacy with this 1965 Mercury Records release, Singing The Blues. The LP finds "Thumper Jones" covering Marty Robbins, Hank Williams, and Ray Price, as well as a healthy dose of originals. If any singles were released or if the disc charted, I can find no evidence. This copy came from a box of records our neighbor and friend Laura gave us recently.
