Good morning Thursday people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we joyfully celebrate the 87th Birthday of Los Angeles born trumpeter, bandleader, and record executive, Herb Alpert. Happy Birthday Herb !  In honor of his big day, we find ourselves spinning his 7th studio recording, S.R.O. . The LP was released November 1966 on the A&M label and produced by Alpert and Jerry Moss, who are the A and M in A&M Records. The disc peaked at #17 in Norway, #5 in the UK, #3 in Germany, and #2 on the Billboard 200. It's singles were "The Work Song" (#25 Australia, #18 Hot 100, #2 Adult Contemporary) , "Flamingo" (#30 Australia, #28 Hot 100, #23 Belgium, #5 Adult Contemporary), and "Mame" #51 Australia, #19 Hot 100, #2 Adult Contemporary).
