Good Thursday morning audiophiles and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember both original female vocalist, Signe Toly Anderson, and rhythm guitarist Paul Kantner of Jefferson Airplane fame. They both passed away on this day in 2016, both age 74. To honor their legacies, we spotlight their seventh studio album, Long John Silver. Long John Silver was released July 20, 1972 on the Grunt label and produced by the band. It peaked at #20 on the Billboard 200 and it's sole single, the title track reached #102 on the Billboard Hot 100. It would be their last record of new material until 1989, with the release of their self titled LP. The album cover itself is cool. It folds up into a a replica of a cigar box. I think someone has startyed to fold this one, but never completed it. I got this album just last week at Lakeland's own The Wax And The Needle as a Birthday gift for the Mrs ...
