It is also the 73rd Birthday of British multi-instrumentalist and composer, John Evan, best known for pounding the keyboards in progressive folk fusion band, Jethro Tull. Happy Birthday John ! Tull's sixth studio album, A Passion Play, was released July 23, 1973, on Chrysalis Records and produced by Ian Anderson and Terry Ellis. The concept album exploring the afterlife adventures of Ronnie Pilgrim, peaked at #16 in the UK, #9 in Australia, #4 in Denmark, and #1 in America. "A Passion Play [Edit #8]" (#80 Hot 100, #50 Germany) and "A Passion Play [Edit #6]" ( failed to chart) were released as singles.
