Join us today we we wish Texas born pop and standards singer - songwriter Johnny Mathis a very Happy 86th Birthday. Happy Birthday Johnny ! Today we focus on his 49th studio album, You Light Up My Life. The LP was released March 13, 1978 on the Columbia label and produced by Jack Gold. It peaked at #33 in New Zealand, #9 on the Billboard 200, #4 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and #3 in the UK. On it are two duets performed with Deneice Williams, "Too Much, Too Little, Too Late" (#1 Canada Adult Contemporary, Hot 100, Easy Listening, Soul Singles) , the record's sole single and it's B-side, "Emotion", a song written by Barry and Robin Gibb and first recorded by Samantha Sang in 1978, and then later recorded by the Bee Gees in 1994.
