STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - JOHNNY PAYCHECK - THE EARLY YEARS

Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Sunday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember outlaw country music artist, Johnny Paycheck, on what would have been his 82nd Birthday. He died in his sleep in 2003, age 64, from respiratory failure. To commemorate the date we spotlight this 1980 Little Darlin' Records compilation, The Early Years. It was produced by Johnny's then manager and record company owner Aubrey Mayhew, who wrote or co-wrote many of the songs and  gave Johnny his stage name. I guess Donald Eugene Lytle, didn't quite have the same ring to it as Johnny Paycheck did. I can't find any individual musician credits for this album, which is a shame because it sounds really great. I did read that Lloyd Green's pedal-steel guitar graced many of these early recordings.
