STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - JONATHAN WINTERS - MAD, MAD, MAD, MAD WORLD

Good Tuesday morning to you all and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember Montecito, California native, comedian, actor, author, television host, and artist,  Jonathan Winters, on this, the 10th anniversary of his passing. He was born Jonathan Harshman Winters III on November 11, 1925 to parents Jonathan Harshman Winters II, an insurance agent and investment broker and Alice Kilgore, a radio personality. His career begin a few months after his marriage to Eileen Schauder in 1948. He had lost his wristwatch and couldn't afford to replace it. She read about a talent contest where the prize was a wristwatch and encouraged the future funnyman to enter and win the contest. Which he did. His performance led to a DJ gig that eventually saw his unique brand of humor evolve. Following that, he excelled in film, television, voice acting and stand up comedy. Today we have him on this 1964 Verve Records comedy compilation album, Jonathan Winters' Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World. The LP was produced by George Spota and reached #145 on the Billboard 200. The cover art is by page favorite, Jack Davis. Winters passed away April 11, 2013, age 87, from natural causes.
