Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Friday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember New York native, singer, songwriter, and actress, Laura Branigan, on this, the 18th anniversary of her death. She was born July 3, 1952 and passed away  August 26, 2004, age 52, from a ventricular brain aneurysm. We honor her legacy, by spinning her third studio album, Self Control. The LP was released April 1, 1984 on the Atlantic label and produced by German composer Jack White and Robbie Buchanan. It peaked at #48 in the Netherlands, #38 in New Zealand, #29 in Australia, #24 on the Cash Box, #23 on the Billboard 200, #16 in Austria, the UK, and on the European Albums chart, #12 in Canada, #5 in Germany and Sweden, and #2 in Finland and Switzerland. Five singles were released from the 10 track album ; the title track "Self Control (#26 New Zealand, #24 Spain, # 16 Italy, # 13 France, #7 the Netherlands, #5 in the UK and on the Cash Box, #4 Hot 100, #3 Australia, Belgium, #2 Ireland, Norway, Dance Club Songs, #1 Austria, Canada, Canada Adult Contemporary, Denmark, European Top 100, Finland, Portugal, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, and West Germany), "The Lucky One" (#56 UK, #53 Canada, #48 Australia,#37 European Top 100, #33 West Germany, #29 Ireland, #27 France, #22 Cash Box, #21 Switzerland,  #20 Hot 100, #13 US Adult Contemporary, #10 Dance Club Songs, #9 the Netherlands, #6 Canada Adult Contemporary), "Ti amo" (#25 Australia, #15 Dutch Top 40, #4 Germany, # 3 Austria, Norway, #1 France, Greece, Sweden, Switzerland), "Satisfaction" (#24  Billboard Dance Music/Club Play Singles) and the German only release,  "With Every Beat of My Heart". This is the only album we own by her.
