Good morning gang and welcome to the Christmas Eve edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. With Friday finally here and Christmas just a few hours away, we find ourselves spinning Mariah Carey's classic Merry Christmas. The original LP was released October 28, 1994 on the Columbia label and produced by Carey, Walter Afanasieff, and Loris Holland. It is her first Christmas album and overall fourth studio album.  The record reached #5 in Estonia, #4 in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, and Billboard's  Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, #3 in South Korea and the Hot 100, #2 in Australia, the Netherlands, and Sweden and #1 in Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, the UK, Billboard's Top Holiday Albums, as well as Billboard's Top Catalog Albums chart. "All I Want for Christmas Is You" (#1 Australia, Austria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Billboard's Global 200, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK, UK R&B, the Hot 100, the Holiday 100, and the Rolling Stone Top 100)  and "Joy To The World" (#33 Australia) were released as singles. The album has been certified 8X Platinum in the US. Our copy is the 2015 re issue on red vinyl, that I recently bought on Ebay for this occasion.
