STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - QUIET RIOT - METAL HEALTH

Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Friday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we are thrilled to wish Cuban born heavy metal bassist, Rudy Sarzo (Rodolfo Maximiliano Sarzo Lavieille Grande Ruiz Payret y Chaumont), a very Happy 72nd Birthday. Happy Birthday Rudy ! He is best known for his work in the bands Quiet Riot, Ozzy Osbourne, and Whitesnake, but has also performed with other acts such as, Manic Eden, Dio, Blue Öyster Cult, Geoff Tate's Queensrÿche, Devil City Angels, and The Guess Who. Today we have in on the third studio album from the Los Angelos based rock and metal group, Quiet Riot. Metal Health was released March 11, 1983, on the Pasha label and produced by Spencer Proffer, who also provides a little background vocals on the disc. It was the first heavy metal album to reach #1 on the Billboard 200 charts (#39 Australia, #33 New Zealand, #5 Canada) and has been certified 6X Platinum is the US. Five singles were release ; "Metal Health" (#37 Mainstream Rock), "Cum on Feel the Noize" (#7 Mainstream Rock), "Slick Black Cadillac" (#32 Mainstream Rock), "Cum on Feel the Noize" (#5 Hot 100), and "Metal Health" (#31 Hot 100). This album, and Motley Crue's Too Fast For Love, was my introduction to metal. Our copy is a double sided picture disc purchased right here in Lakeland at Jesse Carl Vinyl. On a side note, tomorrow marks 15 years since the death of vocalist, Kevin Dubrow, who died from a fatal overdose of cocaine, painkillers and alcohol.
