Good Tuesday morning to you all and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember New York city born singer, dancer, actor, comedian, film producer and television director, Sammy Davis, Jr. on the 33rd anniversary of his passing. He was born December 8, 1925  to parents Sammy Davis Sr., a dancer, and Elvera Sanchez, a tap dancer. Jr. died  May 16, 1990, age 64, from complications of throat cancer. Today we have him on this 1956 Decca Records release, Mr. Wonderful, starring Sammy Davis Jr., and the original cast. This musical features a book by Joseph Stein and Will Glickman, and music and lyrics by Jerry Bock, Larry Holofcener, and George David Weiss. It was a showcase created specifically for Davis and stars him as entertainer Charlie Welch who is dealing with a host of business problems. Joining him on the stage is his father Sammy Sr. and uncle Will (who along with Jr.  performed as the Will Mastin Trio), Olga James, Jack Carter, Chita Rivera, Malcolm Lee Beggs, Marilyn Cooper and Patricia Marshall.
