STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - SHA NA NA - THE GOLDEN AGE OF ROCK AND TOLL

Good morning, morning people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember Massachusetts born singer songwriter and guitarist, "Dirty" Dan McBride, best known for his work with the rock and roll doo-wop cover group, Sha Na Na . He was born November 20, 1945 and passed away July 23, 2009, age 63, while sleeping. He got his start in the 60s in the Boston area with his band the Cavaliers before moving on and joining Sha Na Na. He also appeared in the movie, Grease, and did voice acting work as well as writing for humor magazines. With him in mind, we find ourselves spinning Sha Na Na's  4th record, The Golden Age Of Rock 'N' Roll. The double LP was released in 1973 on the Kama Sutra label and produced by Basil Matychak. The record(s) reached #38 on the Billboard 200 and has been certified Gold in the US. Sides 2,3, and 4 were recorded live. It came with a huge fold out poster of the group and ours is still intact. This was another great find from J.R.'s Junk Trunk.
