Today we joyfully celebrate the 76th Birthday of Texas born bassist and vocalist, Larry Graham, best known for his work in Sly And The Family Stone and Graham Central Station. Happy Birthday Larry ! To mark the occasion, we spotlight the 4th studio album by Sly And The Family Stone. Stand! was released May 3, 1969 on the Epic label and produced by Sly Stone. It peaked at #13 on the Billboard 200, #9 in Australia, and #3 on the Top Soul Albums chart. Four singles were released from the 8 track album ; "Everyday People" (# R&B, Hot 100), "Sing A Simple Song" (#89 Hot 100, #28 R&B), "Stand!" (#22 Hot 100, #14 R&B), and "I Want to Take You Higher" (#28 Hot 100, #24 R&B).
