Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember Scottish songwriter, lyricist, vocalist, executive producer, pianist, and co-creator of The Alan Parsons Project, Eric Woolfson, on this, the 11th anniversary of his passing. He died in 2011, age 64, from kidney cancer. The Alan Parsons Project's 3rd record, Pyramid, was released June 1, 1978 on the Arista label and produced by Alan Parsons. The Gold certified disc reached #49 in the UK, #26 on the Billboard 200, #4 in New Zealand, and #3 in Germany. The songs "Pyramania" (failed to chart) and "What Goes Up…" (#87 Hot 100) were released as singles. The album is conceptual, dealing with the subject and interest at the time of the Pyramids of Giza.
