Good morning Thursday people and welcome to the Veteran's Day 2021 edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we celebrate the service of our US military veterans and offer a resounding thank you to them all. With that in mind we spotlight this American Forces Radio And Television Service record possibly from 1979.

American Forces Radio And Television Service, since it's inception in 1942, has provided entertainment on both radio and television for service members and their Families, stationed overseas.

Using Discogs, I was able to find several records in this series, but not this one. Judging from the release dates of the songs, I believe it was probably released in 1979 or 1980 on the American Forces Radio And Television Service label, which is a division of the Department Of Defense. All these records were to be recalled or destroyed after the service transitioned to cassettes in the mid 1980s.

 I've deemed the side that reads P- 18133 as the A side and P - 18134 as it's B- side. The a side has selections from The Babys' third record, Head First and side b has choice cuts from The Best Of Rick Roberts. On The Babys' side, printed on the label it reads, "John Waite is heard on lead vocals and bass." On the Rick Roberts side, it reads "Rick Roberts toured with the Flying Burrito Brothers, having replaced Gram Parsons. When the Burrito Bros. broke up, Rick Roberts became a soloist. He is now writer and singing member of Firefall.
