Good Monday morning gang and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we joyfully wish  guitarist/ vocalist, Mark Volman of The Turtles, Flo and Eddie, and Frank's Zappa's The Mothers Of Invention, a very Happy 74th Birthday. Happy Birthday Mark ! With him in mind, we spotlight the 12th album by Zappa, Filmore East - June 1971. The soon to be 50 year old live LP was recorded June 5-6 1971 at the  Fillmore East, New York City and then released later that year in August, on the Bizarre/Reprise label. It peaked at #38 on the Billboard 200 and #24 in Australia. The record was produced by Zappa. As mentioned earlier, Flo and Eddie were part of the band at this time, and part of the set list was their Turtles hit, "Happy Together". The only single released, was the final track,  "Tears Began to Fall", which did not chart. Our copy was purchased a couple of years ago, here in Lakeland, at Jesse Carl Vinyl.
