Good Monday morning, morning people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we find ourselves celebrating the 69th Birthday of Irish drummer and founding member, Brian Downey, best known for his work with Thin Lizzy. Happy Birthday Brian ! With him in mind, we spotlight the sixth studio album, by the Irish rockers, Jailbreak. Jailbreak was released  March 26, 1976 on the Mercury label and produced by John Alcock. It reached #18 on the Billboard 200, #10 in the UK, and #5 in Canada. Three singles were released ; "The Boys Are Back in Town" ( #12 Hot 100, #8 Canada, UK, #1 Ireland) , "Jailbreak" (#31 UK) and "Cowboy Song" (#77 Hot 100) . The LP has been certified Gold in the US.   Besides Phil Lynott, Downey was the only other constant member during the band's original run. In 2017 he formed  Brian Downey's Alive and Dangerous. They tour and perform Thin Lizzy songs.
