STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - WILD CHERRY - ELECTRIFIED FUNK

Good morning faithful readers and welcome back to the Friday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again  . Today we celebrate the 69th Birthday of  Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania native and guitarist, Bryan Bassett . Happy Birthday Bryan ! He is best known for his work in the Ohio based funk rock band, Wild Cherry, although he did spend some time in Lonesome Dave's Foghat and Molly Hatchet. Today we have him on Wild Cherry's sophomore record, Electrified Funk. The LP was released   April 1977 on the Epic label and produced by the group's front man, Robert Parissi. The album peaked at #51 on the Billboard 200 and #33 on the Top R&B/ Hip Hop Albums chart. Three singles were issued ; the "Play That Funky Music" soundalike,  "Baby Don't You Know" (#43 Hot 100, #41 R&B),  "Hot to Trot" (#95 Hot 100, #62 R&B, #17New Zealand),  and "Hold On (With Strings)" (#61 Hot 100) .
