Great Monday morning gang and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we are thrilled to wish English heavy metal and rock guitarist and songwriter, Ritchie Blackmore, a very Happy 80th Birthday. Happy Birthday Ritchie ! He was born
Richard Hugh Blackmore on this day in 1945 in
Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, England and is best known for his work in the bands Deep Purple, Rainbow, and Blackmore's Night.
Today we have him on the fourth compilation from Deep Purple. Powerhouse was released December 1977 on the Purple label and produced by the band. It reached #54 in Australia, #50 in Germany, and #30 in Japan, where it has been certified Gold. It is a collection of previously unreleased studio and live tracks from the group's Mark II line-up. Our copy was a recent purchase from the fine folks at Lakeland's own The Wax And The Needle.
