Clown Dies At Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

DEATH AT THE PARADE:Robert Blasetti is tended to by emergency workers after collapsing at the parade yesterday. He was later pronounced dead.

A 67-year-old man dressed as a clown went into cardiac arrest and died in front of throngs of horrified spectators at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade yesterday.

Robert Blasetti, 67, was with his wife, Irene, who was wearing a similar outfit and who desperately tried to revive him by administering CPR.

When a good Samaritan wearing a Macy’s sweatshirt took over, she was helped, weeping, to a parade cart.

The tragedy happened as the two were making balloon animals at Sixth Avenue and West 39th St.

“All of a sudden he collapsed and fell on his back. People came to him right away. It didn’t look like he was breathing. People started pumping his chest,’’ said witness Tuvia Yamnik. There were conflicting reports about how long it took an ambulance to get through the clogged streets to Blasetti.

Macy’s spokesman Orlando Veras, would not say if the man had been an employee.

”We are saddened to report that a marcher in the Macy’s Parade suffered a medical emergency,” he said.

Some spectators said it took a long time, but a Macy’s spokesman said it was there “within minutes.’’ He would not say if Blasetti was a Macy’s employee.

Meanwhile, a civilian NYPD worker also suffered a fatal heart attack at the parade.

Charles Sutton, 58, collapsed as he hooked up a car to be towed off the parade route at West 57th Street and Sixth Avenue.

He and Blasetti were both pronounced dead at Roosevelt Hospital.

It's terrible when people die but especially during the Holidays.  Now it leaves a bad memory for those family members left behind for years to come.  I was deeply saddened to hear of the couple that died in the multi vehicle crash in southeast Texas on Thursday morning.  Just a horrible tragedy!
