SATURDAY'S SINGLES : GREG KIHN and GUNS 'N' ROSES

Good morning gang and welcome to the return of Saturday's Singles. First up, we find ourselves celebrating the 72nd Birthday of vocalist/guitarist, radio personality, and author Greg Kihn. Happy Birthday Greg ! Greg released his second charting single,  "The Breakup Song (They Don't Write 'Em)" in May of 1981 on Kihn's own Beserkley label. The tune hailed from his 6th studio album,  RocKihnRoll and was produced by Matthew King Kaufman. It peaked at #15 on the Hot 100, #14 in Australia, and #5 on  on the Billboard Top Tracks chart. It's B-side is "When the Music Starts" from the same album.

Also on this day in 2012, Guns 'N' Roses guitarist Slash, received his his Star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. To mark the occasion, we spotlight the G'N'R single, "Yesterdays". "Yesterdays" was released October 26, 1992 on Geffen Records and produced by Mike Clink  and Guns N' Roses. It was the third track on their fourth album, Use Your Illusion II. It peaked at #72 on the Hot 100, #52 in Canada, #13 on the Mainstream Rock charts, and #8 in the UK. Our copy is on cassette single and features a "Yesterdays (Live in Las Vegas)" on the flip side.
