Good morning gang and welcome to the return of Saturday's Singles, a 12 Days Of Christmas Countdown edition. Today our two songs share the 7th position and here they are. "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" by Jimmy Boyd was released in 1952 on the Columbia label. The tune, penned by British songwriter Tommie Connor, reached #1 on Billboard's Pop Singles and Cash Box and #3 in the UK. The song was commissioned by Saks Fifth Avenue for their store Christmas card, for that year. Since then it has been covered by many including, the Ronettes, Spike Jones, The Beverley Sisters, Bobby Sherman, Andy Williams, The Four Seasons, Reba McEntire, Homer and Jethro, Amy Winehouse, John Mellencamp, Mitch Miller, John Prine, Sammi Sanchez, Tiny Tim, The Cheetah Girls, Ray Stevens, Bif Naked, Jessica Simpson, and Teresa Brewer. It's B-side is Jimmy performing "Thumbelina", from Hans Christian Andersen.
