Our second set of candles belongs to El Centro, California native, singer, actress and television personality, Cher (Cherilyn Sarkisian). Happy 77th Birthday Cher !b She was born in 1946 to parents John Sarkisian, a truck driver and Georgia Holt, a former model and actress. Cher met Sonny Bono in 1962 and married him in 1964. They initially called themselves Caesar & Cleo, but in 1965 became Sonny & Cher, and as they say, the rest is history. Today we are spinning their 1967 Atco Records release, "A Beautiful Story", which was produced by Sonny. It was a non album track that reached #53 on the Hot 100. It's flip side is "Podunk" from the In Case You're in Love album. Sonny passed away January 5, 1998, age 62, after being injured in a skiing accident.
