Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good morning gang and welcome back to Saturday's Singles. First we travel back to this day in the year 1953, in New Haven, Connecticut, when future singer-songwriter Michael Bolotin was born. Thankfully for the sake of his music career and us having not to butcher the pronunciation of it, he changed it to Bolton and Michael Bolton is celebrating his 69th Birthday today. Happy Birthday Michael ! Next our way back machine machine travels to June 19, 1989 and the release of his 6th studio album, Soul Provider. It's title track is our first single. The tune was released on the Columbia label and produced by Peter Bunetta and Rick Chudacoff . It peaked at #17 on the Hot 100 and #3 on the Adult Contemporary charts. It's B-side is the title track to Michael's 5th studio album, The Hunger.

Next we pile back into our machine, start turning dials and pulling levers and end up on this day in 1932 in Kingsland, Arkansas to witness the birth of John R. Cash. Johnny would have celebrated his 90th Birthday today and man do we miss him. He passed away in 2003, age 71, from diabetes. Our contraption now hurries us away to February 12, 1966 and the release of his hit single, "The One On The Right Is On The Left" (from his 23rd record, Everybody Loves A Nut) . The tune, issued by Columbia Records, written by Jack Clements, and produced by Don Law and Frank Jones, nearly topped the Country Singles chart, coming in at #2, while also charting on the Hot 100 (#46) and the Canadian RPM Top Singles chart (#35). It's flip side is "Cotton Pickin' Hands".
