Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Thursday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember keyboard player and bassist, Larry Knetchel, best known as a member of the famous group of session musicians The Wrecking Crew, as well as a member of Bread, on this, the 11th anniversary of his passing. He died in 2009, age 69, from a heart attack. With him in mind, we spotlight Art Garfunkel's debut solo record, Angel Clare. Angel Clare, named after a character in Thomas Hardy's novel, Tess of the d'Urbervilles, was released September 11, 1973 on the Columbia label and was produced by Art Garfunkel and Roy Halee. It is Art's most successful solo effort, peaking at #6 in Canada, #5 on the Billboard 200, and #4 in Sweden. three singles were released; "Traveling Boy" (#102 Bubbling under the Hot 100, #38 Adult Contemporary),"I Shall Sing" (#38 Hot 100, #4 Adult Contemporary), and Garfunkel's highest charting single, a cover of the Jimmy Webb classic, "All I Know" (#9 Hot 100). The musicians list reads like a who's who of seventies era musicians and the cover is one of the big heads cover featuring a close up of Garfunkel's head. It's not a great cover, in my opinion ...
