Dark Clouds Rain Down Tears Washing Away Swirling Colors From The Clown's Face..
Good morning Friday people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember soft/folk/country rock artist, Dan Fogelberg, what would have been his 70th Birthday. The vocalist and multi instrumentalist passed away in 2007, age 56, from prostate cancer. To honor his legacy, (which includes being a BIG influence on Garth Brooks) we spotlight his 6th studio recording, Phoenix. Phoenix was released November 1979 on the Full Moon/ Epic label and produced by Dan Fogelberg with Marty Lewis and Norbert Putnam. It peaked at #42 in the UK, #27 in Australia, and #3 on the Billboard 200. Four singles were released, with two of them charting, "Heart Hotels" (#21 Hot 100, #3 Adult Contemporary) and "Longer" (#2 Hot 100, #1 Adult Contemporary) and two non charting, "Face the Fire" and "Beggar's Game". Oddly enough, this is the only Folgelberg LP in our collection ...
