Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome back to the Thursday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we remember Cass Elliot, folk vocalist best known as a member of the Mamas and the Papas, on this, the 47th anniversary of her passing. She died in 1974, age 32, of heart failure. We honor her legacy with this 1970 Blue Thumb recording, Dave Mason & Cass Elliot by Dave Mason & Cass Elliot. The LP, released on Mason's own record label, was produced by the duo and reached #49 on the Billboard 200. Our copy was signed by Dave Mason at a show in Orlando in 2017. We were walking in the venue and the powers that be decided to delete my FB profile. I almost left the concert when Mason announced he didn't want fans taking videos or photos. I took two photos anyway, which I'll include here. He butchered "Low Spark Of High Heel Boys". I wouldn't even go back inside with my beautiful Wife to get this record signed. I waited outside and fumed ...
