Good morning, morning people and welcome back to the Sunday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we emphatically wish Indiana born rock musician, singer, songwriter and former radio personality, David Lee Roth, a very Happy 67th Birthday. Happy Birthday Dave ! With him in mind we spotlight his debut solo recording, the 4 song EP, Crazy From The Heat. The record was released January 28, 1985, a few weeks before he left Van Halen, on the Warner Brothers label and produced by Ted Templeman. O)n it Roth covers The Beach Boys, The Lovin' Spoonful,  Louis Prima, and The Edgar Winter Group. Speaking of Winter, he plays keyboards/synthesizer on three of the four tracks. The EP reached #91 in the UK, #21 in New Zealand, #15 on the Billboard 200, and #14 in Canada. Three songs were released as singles : "California Girls" (#29 Adult Contemporary, #3 Hot 100 and Mainstream Rock) ,  "Easy Street" (#14 Mainstream Rock), and "Medley: Just a Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody (#25 Mainstream Rock, #12 Hot 100) . Recently Dave has announced his impending retirement, so we wish him the best.
