Today we are overjoyed to celebrate the 78th Birthday of English drummer, Bev Bevan, best known for his work in the band Electric Light Orchestra and it's sequel ELO Part Two. Happy Birthday Bev ! With him in mind, we spotlight ELO's third studio album, On The Third Day. The LP was released November 1973 on the United Artists label and produced by co founder, Jeff Lynne. It reached #289 in Japan, #52 on the Billboard 200, #46 in Australia, #40 in Canada, and #31on the Cash Box. Two singles were released frond the 9 song album ; "Showdown" (#53 Hot 100, #51 Cash Box, #47 Canada, #28 Dutch Top 40, #25 Netherlands, #9 Norway) and "Ma-Ma-Ma Belle" (#22 UK). Marc Bolan plays leads guitar on the latter track.
