Great Monday morning gang and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember Tennessee born bluegrass guitarist and mandolinist, Lester Raymond Flatt, on what would have been his 109th Birthday. He was born in 1914 and passed away May 11, 1979, age 64, of heart failure. He of course is best known as one half of the bluegrass duo, Flatt And Scruggs and today we have them on this 1968 Columbia Records release, The Story Of Bonnie And Clyde by Lester Flatt And Earl Scruggs With The Foggy Mountain Boys. The LP reached #187 on the Billboard 200 and #23 on the Top Country Albums chart. Earl Scruggs' son, Randy plays guitar on the album.
