Good morning record enthusiasts and welcome to the Sunday and Mother's Day 2022 edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. We take a little time today to say how much we love and appreciate all you wonderful Moms for putting up with all of us undeserving offspring. With you in mind, we spotlight the 44th official release from Frank Zappa, Frank Zappa Meets The Mothers Of Prevention. The LP was released November 21, 1985 on the Barking Pumpkin label and produced by Zappa himself. It peaked at #153 on the Billboard 200. The album deals with the PMRC (Parents Music Resource Center), the pro censorship group responsible for putting explicit lyrics labels on all our favorite albums. In September of that same year, Zappa had testified before the United States Senate Commerce, Technology, and Transportation committee and audio excerpts from that day can be heard on the track, "Porn Wars". Two of Zappa kids, Dweezil and Moon lend vocals to the record. Our copy still has the Barking Pumpkin order form in it and we also have a cassette copy of the album.
