Today we look ahead to tomorrow (11/14/22) in observance of what would be tghe 86th Birthday of Englsih singer and actor, Freddie Garrity, best known as the front man for the English Beat/ novelty band, Freddie and the Dreamers. He was born in 1936 and passed away May 19, 2006, age 69, after batting emphysema. With him in mind, we spotlight the Dreamers 4th album, Do the Freddie. The LP was released August 1965 on the Mercury label and produced by John Burgess. It peaked at #85 on the Billboard 200 and gave birth to five singles ; "If You Gotta Make a Fool of Somebody" (#7 New Zealand, #3 UK), "Over You" (#96 Australia, #13 UK), "Just for You" (#41 UK), "A Little You" (#48 US, #26 UK, #8 Canada), and the title track, "Do the Freddie", which spawned a dance craze. There are instructions on how to perform the dance on the back cover of the album.
