Good morning faithful readers and welcome back to the Sunday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we are thrilled to wish Atlanta native, singer, songwriter, actress and businesswoman, Gladys Knight, a very Happy 79th Birthday. Happy Birthday Gladys ! She was born in 1944 to parents, Merald Woodlow Knight Sr., a postal worker, and Sarah Elizabeth and got her start like so many others, singing in the church choir. She has won 7 Grammys and is be3st known for her work in The Pips, whose membership includes her Brother, Merald "Bubba" Knight and cousins William Guest and Edward Patten. Today we have her on her first solo record, Miss Gladys Knight. The LP was released in 1978 on the Buddah label and produced by Gary Klein and Tony Macaulay. It is her only album on that label. It peaked at #57 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and saw the birth of two singles ; "I'm Coming Home Again" (#54 R&B) and "I'm Still Caught Up With You".
