STUCK IN THE VINYL AGAIN - HAPPY DAYS

Good morning Wednesday warriors and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. It was this day in 1974 that the Garry Marshall created sitcom Happy Days first aired on ABC television. The show ran 11 seasons and followed the exploits of the the Cunningham Family, particularly their teenage son Richie, (played by Ron Howard) and his slightly older friend and cool motorcycle riding bad boy,  Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli (Henry Winkler). It was set in 1950s Wisconsin, and is considered on the most successful sitcoms in television history.

To commemorate the date, we proudly present Happy Days - Fonzies' Favorites. The album was released in 1976 on the Juke Box International label, and is a thoroughly enjoyable listen. In addition to the Happy Days theme song, performed by  Pratt & McLain with Brother Love, the LP contains a great selection of 50s era Rock N' Roll, that you would  come to expect from the show's soundtrack as well as a couple of novelty songs, I have never heard before, "The Fonzarelli Slide" by Frank Lyndon and The Heyettes performing "The Fonz Song". In "The Fonzarelli Slide", the Fonz (voice by an un- credited impressionist )  rides over and crosses over with the kids from Welcome Back Kotter, to attend the Annual Sweathogs School Dance. Hilarity ensues. On the back cover of the album the cardboard folds out to provide a free standing picture fframe effect for display. This copy was purchased years ago from our fine friends at J.R.'s Junk Trunk.
