Good morning faithful readers and welcome back to the Tuesday edition of Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we gleefully celebrate the 69th Birthday of British front man Rob Halford, known for his work in Judas Priest, Fight, 2wo, and Halford. Happy Birthday Rob ! To get the party started, we give the album Point Of Entry, a spin. Point Of Entry was released February 26, 1981 on Columbia Records and produced by Tom Allom and the band. It peaked at #39 on the Billboard 200 and #14 in the UK and Sweden. Three singles were released ; the ever popular, "Heading Out To The Highway" (#10 Mainstream Rock), "Don't Go" (#51 UK), and "Hot Rockin'" (#60 UK). The LP has sold over 1.6 million copies worldwide and has been certified Gold in the US. On a side note, yesterday marked the 30th anniversary of the end of the infamous 'subliminal messages' lawsuit, where the suicide pact of two fans were blamed on the band. Lawyers claimed if you played the track “Better By You, Better Than Me,” (a cover of Spooky Tooth's 1969 song) backwards, it contained the words "do it". The group won the case and were found not to be liable in the deaths. I'll include a link about the court case down around the picture section.
