Good morning Friday people and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again . Today we remember Grand Rapids, Minnesota born actress and singer, Judy Garland (real name : Frances Ethel Gumm) on what would have been her 100th Birthday. She passed away June 22, 1969, age 47, from "an incautious self-overdosage" of barbiturates. We honor her legacy by spinning the compilation album, The Hits Of Judy Garland. Originally released in 1963 on Capitol records, the LP collects some of the best known Garland tunes including "Over The Rainbow", "The Trolley Song", and "The Man That Got Away". Our copy is the Capitol Star Line reissue, but Discogs and I aren't sure what year it is. Our copy came from a box of records we bought g=from our mechanic a few months back. It was sealed prior to this listening.
