Good Monday morning gang, if you believe in such things, and welcome back to Stuck In The Vinyl Again. Today we celebrate the 59th Birthday of Canadian pop and country singer, k.d. lang. Happy Birthday k.d. ! To commemorate the date, we spotlight her debut record, Shadowland. The LP was released in 1988 on the Sire label and produced by iconic country music producer, Owen Bradley, who coincidently produced the Bill Anderson record we featured yesterday. The album reached #73 on the Billboard 200, #23 on the Canadian Country charts, and #9 on both the US Country charts and the Canadian pop charts. Fours singles were released ; "Lock, Stock, and Teardrops" (#53 Country), "I'm Down to My Last Cigarette" (#21 Contry, #7 Canada Country), "Busy Being Blue" (failed to chart) and the super entertaining medley "Honky Tonk Angels Medley", in which she performs with Kitty Wells, Loretta Lynn, and Brenda Lee (also failed to charts).
